iPhone app currently in development

Think before you scroll.

BrainTeeze is a digital-wellbeing app for iPhone that places a short thinking moment between you and the apps you open out of habit. A small pause, in the exact second it matters.

Before opening

One challenge stands between habit and choice.

The problem

Most distracting apps are not opened by decision. They are opened by habit.

The gesture is practiced: unlock, thumb travels to the same corner, the feed is already loading. There was never a moment where you chose it.

Because the loop is so fast, the usual advice — willpower, app timers you dismiss instantly — meets the habit far too late to matter.

BrainTeeze takes a different approach: instead of blocking you outright, it asks for a few seconds of thought at the exact point the habit fires.

How BrainTeeze works

Three steps, and no lectures.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your distracting apps

You pick the apps you tend to open without thinking. Nothing is decided for you — the list is yours, and you can change it.

  2. Step 2

    Face a short thinking challenge

Before that app opens, BrainTeeze presents a brief challenge that asks for a little focused attention rather than a reflex tap.

  3. Step 3

    Continue more intentionally

Once you finish, you carry on — but now you opened the app on purpose instead of on autopilot.

Planned difficulty levels

Choose how much thinking the moment should ask of you.

The challenge system is planned around three levels, so the pause can match the habit you are working on. The specific challenge formats are still being designed and tested.

Easy

A light moment of attention. Enough to break the reflex without turning a quick check into a chore.

Medium

A step up in effort, for people who want the pause to carry a bit more weight during the day.

Hard

The most demanding option, for habits you are actively trying to interrupt.

Planned progress mechanics

A record of the moments you chose differently.

BrainTeeze is planned to include streaks and a brain-progression concept, so the small decisions add up to something you can see. Progress is meant to encourage attention, not to shame you for using your phone.

Streaks

A simple continuity signal for the days you keep meeting the pause instead of skipping past it.

Brain progression

A visual sense of momentum that develops as you work through challenges over time.

Digital wellbeing and privacy

Built to be respectful of your attention — and your information.

BrainTeeze is designed as a wellbeing tool rather than an engagement product. There is no feed inside it, and no reason for you to spend time in the app beyond the challenge in front of you.

Because the app is still in development, we describe our data practices carefully rather than making promises we cannot yet stand behind. Our Privacy Policy explains what applies to this website today and states plainly that it will be updated as the app's final data practices are established before launch.

We do not claim any affiliation with or endorsement by Apple. App availability depends on the normal App Store review process.
